Great conversations at the CTE teaching as research conference

Had a lovely time at the Centre for Excellence's annual Teaching as Research Conference. Had a chance to see good research on teaching methods from this year's graduate student fellows, and hear a keynote discussion on active learning techniques from Dr. Maryellen Weimer, Professor Emeritus of Teaching and Learning, Penn State University.

Had a particularly interesting conversation with a fellow grad student from Ecology and Biology. His project looked at how participation in field work courses facilitated the persistence of  underrepresented minorities in undergraduate degrees.
